Sample design - full information: The research framework established that comparisons should be made between different groups in one city, and between same groups in different cities. This led to a selection of two different groups per city, making sure that groups from the same country of origin would be selected in at least two cities. Moroccans and Turks were interviewed in Amsterdam (allowing comparison with the fieldwork done in Vienna and Bielefeld with Turk migrants and with Stockholm for Moroccan migrants). Due to its latter incorporation to the project, in Rotterdam only one country group was interviewed (namely, Capeverdian migrants, allowing thus comparison with the fieldwork in Lisbon with this same country group). Although in principle Amsterdam and Rotterdam were the only two partners that were able to implement a random sample drawn from the municipal register (together with Bielefeld), in the end also in these cities a large part of the respondents were approached through snowballing, following strictly the method that was implemented already by the other partners
