<notes subject="sampling method">4.5: The primary sampling units are individuals, but when a selected person agreed to participate the household was also included, if possible. When a new household enters the panel, the contact person of that household fills in a household questionnaire, specifying the composition of the household and some demographic information about each member of the household. The contact person also indicates which household members are willing to participate in the panel</notes>
<notes subject="sample size">5.6: The registration rate for panel membership was considerably lower than the average among the groups of Moroccan-Dutch origin (20%), Turkish-Dutch origin (20%) and other non-Western origin (23%). This could be mainly attributed to language problems</notes>
<notes subject="data collection">7.2: Although the panel questionnaire was done by internet, PAPA and CAPI interviews were used for the recruitment process. 7.3-7.7a: There is no detailed information about the language skills of the interviewers and the languages in which the questionnaire was offered. The report specifically mentions that language issues were encountered with some country groups (mainly, households of Moroccan, Turkish, non-Western origin), so it is likely that the languages of at least these three country groups were not offered duting the interview process. For migrants with Indonesian or Surinamese background, the interviews/questionnaires were offered in Dutch as these country nationals generally speak Dutch due to the colonial past. 7.8: The monthly questionnaire lasts about 15 to 30 minutes in total. 7.9: The Household Box has a total of 28 background variables (10 variables at household level and 19 at individual level). For every Immigrant panel household, a single contact person completes this questionnaire on a monthly basis. In addition to this background household questionnaire, the Immigrant Panel is composed of several core studies</notes>
