Prior to Project Greenback 2.0, there was Project Greenback which started in spring 2011 and concluded in 2012. Project Greenback engaged with two migrant communities: the Hondurans in Washington, DC (USA) and the Moroccans in Turin (Italy). Project Greenback offered financial education workshops and organized awareness raising initiatives in these 2 selected cities. It also produced a video documentary documenting the behavioral changes among remittance senders and recipients, as well as monitoring the changes in the market through constant dialogue with experts, local authorities, and market players. 2.5: To date, quantitative surveys have only been conducted in Montreuil (France), Turin (Italy), and London (UK). In Berat (Albania), which was selected to participate in Project Greenback 2.0 in 21 March 2018, the data producers are currently assessing the feasibility of conducting a survey. 2.9-2.10: The survey is single cross-sectional in design, but has been conducted in different cities (in different countries) at different time periods. Italy was the first country in which the survey was conducted; their survey was conducted in 2013

Sample design - full information: The sample is comprised of three sub-samples selected on the basis of the citizenship at birth of the interviewees: the first subsample is composed of people of Romania nationality, the second of people of Moroccan nationality, the third of people of Peruvian nationality. Subsample were stratified according to the length of stay in Italy; for example, 20% of the respondents were people with a short migratory experience (5 years or less) and who had arrived after 2008. Other requirements for being included in the sample were: to have been living in Italy for at least 1 year, with or without a regular residence status; to have been living in the city of Turin or in one of the municipalities of the metropolitan area; to have an income; to have sent remittances to the country of origin at least once since 2013. The respondents fitting the aforementioned requirements were then selected via snowballing sampling from a list of aggregation points (e.g. migration association and organizations, places of work, entertainment, health-care and meeting centers, social-informal services etc.) developed by the data producers
