2.6-2.7: UKHLS COVID-19 is a regular survey of households in the UK, aimed at understanding the socio-economic and health consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the short and long term. UKHLS COVID-19 started in April 2020 and was conducted monthly until July 2020; from September 2020 onwards, it has taken place every other month. UKHLS COVID-19 is a complement to the annual interviews of UKHLS, which has been taking place since 2009. This means that the sample issued for UKHLS COVID-19 is the 'current active sample' of UKHLS and that most of the respondents of UKHLS COVID-19 would have been present since wave 1 of UKHLS. As such, the start date of wave 1 of UKHLS is listed in 2.6, since this is, in essence, the earliest date to which the specific respondents included in UKHLS COVID-19 can be traced within UKHLS. 2.8: The wave number listed indicates the wave number for the UKHLS COVID-19 only.
