<dc:coverage>Only national surveys directed to EMM respondents with over 300 respondents are included</dc:coverage>
<dc:coverage>A large number of general population surveys were included. The criteria for these was that there were at least 800 EMM respondents on the survey. Typically, this meant including general population surveys with 8000 or more respondents when data was only available for country of birth or 4000 or more respondents when parents country of birth AND respondents country of birth was available. For some surveys not explicitly directed to EMMs but where EMM respondents were known to be overrepresented and the population was vulnerable or hard to reach (such as people living in shelters or victims of domestic violence), a lower sample size was permitted on a case basis</dc:coverage>

<notes subject="data collection">The questionnaire was translated into all languages for groups targeted; however, France only focused on North and Sub-Saharan African immigrants. It is unlikely that the other languages were used in French fieldwork. Additionally, efforts were made overall to match the ethnic background of interviews with that of interviewees but the success of this varied across countries. There is no specific mention of how successful this was in France and the background of interviewers is listed as unknown. CAPI was not possible for Arabic and Kurdish questionnaires so paper questionnaires were used. "Respondent friendly" paper questionnaires were also available in other languages. The original English-language questionnaire was translated into 22 EU languages, but it is not specified which language is not included (there are 24 official EU languages including English). 7.9: The questionnaire consisted of ten sections. All respondents were asked the first eight sections. However, some questions within these sections were relevant only for specific respondent groups or where location sampling was applied. Filters were applied to a large proportion of the questions. The figure listed in 7.9. is the approximate number of all question items included in the EU-MIDIS II core questionnaire.</notes>
