<dc:coverage>Only national surveys directed to EMM respondents with over 300 respondents are included</dc:coverage>
<dc:coverage>A large number of general population surveys were included. The criteria for these was that there were at least 800 EMM respondents on the survey. Typically, this meant including general population surveys with 8000 or more respondents when data was only available for country of birth or 4000 or more respondents when parents country of birth AND respondents country of birth was available. For some surveys not explicitly directed to EMMs but where EMM respondents were known to be overrepresented and the population was vulnerable or hard to reach (such as people living in shelters or victims of domestic violence), a lower sample size was permitted on a case basis</dc:coverage>

Sample design - full information: Two domain sampling where the first domain is constructed of municipalities of more than 40000 dwellings as well as arrondissements in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille. All other municipalities are in the second domain. In the first domain, dwellings are selected via stratified random sampling by municipality and arrondissement. Within the strata, simple random sampling is used. The second sampling domain first selects ZEAs proportional to their size using a stratified sample. Strata are the French administrative regions and ZEA size (big or small). At the second stage, dwellings are selected via simple random sampling. Individuals are selected from dwellings via Kish method for both domains

Description: Design weights for France are included, calculated as an nx1 vector of weights. Post-stratification weights are calculated using information on age, gender, education, and region. Population weights are included to correct for population size when comparing cross-nationally. There are also analysis weights which serve to allow for comparison between two or more countries in analysis and are calculated as population weight* post-stratification weight

<notes>Respondents are asked if they are part of a minority ethnic group in their country, though they are not asked to specify. However, they are also given the opportunity to describe their ancestry (up to 2 choices) with a variety of national identities. The respondents are asked if they are part of a minority ethnic group but not to identify which group. Although this is a general population survey, first and second generation migrants can be identified from the questionnaire. These two groups comprise about 20.7% of the French population</notes>
