<dc:coverage>Only subnational surveys directed to EMM respondents with over 150 respondents are included</dc:coverage>
<dc:coverage>A large number of general population surveys were included. The criteria for these was that there were at least 800 EMM respondents on the survey. Typically, this meant including general population surveys with 8000 or more respondents when data was only available for country of birth or 4000 or more respondents when parents country of birth AND respondents country of birth was available. For some surveys not explicitly directed to EMMs but where EMM respondents were known to be overrepresented and the population was vulnerable or hard to reach (such as people living in shelters or victims of domestic violence), a lower sample size was permitted on a case basis</dc:coverage>

Representative of the population: Don't know
Sample design - full information: An onomastic method was used to identify high-probability Turkish households from phone records. 10,550 households were ultimately selected. A screening questionnaire was used to identify eligible households. Respondents were also asked if they knew of any Turkish women who had married non-Turkish men and left their parents home in order to also capture second-generation Turkish women without Turkish surnames. One individual from each household was selected.

<notes subject="sampling method">The method of the Turkish-sounding-name selection contains two biases. Children of Turkish-migrant women who are married to a man who is not of Turkish origin do not appear in the sample frame since they have acquired their husband’s last name and therefore do not have a Turkish name any more. Female descendants of Turkish immigrants who are married to a man whose last name does not sound Turkish do not appear in the sample frame either, which theoretically increases the proportion of women who are married to either a Turkish immigrant or to a descendant of Turkish immigrants. Several arguments lead the researchers to believe that these biases have a low impact</notes>
